I have injectors in my 05 and I guess that I am not that happy with them, I have F1's Flux 2 and I can't seem to make them stop hazing. I love the power and the smoothness of them, but I might be trying something smaller. I can't turn my boxes up all the way anyway and then I can't turn them down enough to stop them from smoking. I know some people are having good luck with injectors, but I can't seem to. I don't know if I have a hazing problem because mine is an 05 with the 3rd injection event or what?

And the thing that really bugs me is that everytime I start my truck in the shop it pukes soot all over. And that is a mess like I can't believe, I now take a rag and bungie cord it to the tail pipe to cover the outlet to catch the soot and then take it of after I back out of the shop.

Aftermarket injectors need to be look it from all angles,1 what is going to be sacrifice and what gains are to be achieve. Now if trying to Make more than 600+hp their are necessary,Look at the service interval's, it will be cut at least in half,I had one customer comment that at 3000 miles he had oil analyze that showed the fuel contamination levels were off the chart,He did have a PRXB which no doubt added to the contamination,at the cost of oil and filter plus down time. 3gen replacement is not easy like 1&2 gen. No need to mention the cost.

Aftermarkets Have their Place, but for the owner that wants 550hp or less their are more effective ways than injectors...

CB has been very cautious with his modding, his truck is a everyday driver, His father has already had a horrible experience with aftermarkets and does not want a repeat. (6. 0 Ford). .

(Side Note)The TDR is losing its appeal do to some that have the attitude . . since I have it must be the Best!!!. Members and readers call here daily and are tried of the the cheerleaders.

We are here to share knowledge and experiences, and nothing wrong with your opinion either, as long as you DO Not defame or insult. I personally fine myself working on this one daily... Snoxracer posted his experience,,and I wish I a had the fix,but I don't and I am not going to create one.

Snoxracer the Third event is off at idle or no depression of the pedal,it only comes on under load.

Twest

no one ever said that these 500-600 hp are for everyone. they aren't gonna get the longevity of the stockers or mileage and yes they do fuel up and dilute the oil. thats why we all maintain them.

don't start on big rig 3406 motors cause you are just comparing apples to oranges.

BIG RIG--------------------------------LITTLE 5. 9 CUMMINS

2100 rpm motor ----------------------- 4000 rpms

made for heavy use ------------------- made for towing camp trailers

80k and 105. 5k towing ---------------- 23k towing

625hp cat motor----------------------- 325hp 5. 9

over 2000ft. lbs. tq. --------------------- 610 ft. lbs. tq.

16 liter engine ------------------------- 5. 9 liter

3-6 mpg------------------------------- 15-22 mpg

with a 600 hp little 5. 9 cummins it would take a 1627. 11hp. in 16 liter 3406e cat to be equal in power to cubic inch ratio. then tell me how long the life span of one of those engines would be or how easy they would be to drive around town with. LOL and for your info all the pre electric cat motors hazed and smoked till these new electics have come out. these newer cat engines also have a larger rod and main journal for longer life too. they are also going to smog motors that don't smoke and get half the fuel mileage, so tell me just how much you know... ..... not what you've been told.

show me one equal comparison besides them both being diesel engines.

Alright,I will compare 5. 9 with stock injectors with aftermarkets,I know of many owners with stock Injectors that get great HP/Mileage with NO longevity Problems to present, still running factory Mains/rods with over 400,000 miles on the OD and still going strong,One off these customers has had a Six-Gun Tuner on level 4 for over 300,000 of those miles. another with TST. . Sorry I don't any owner that after a careful view had No issues at all with the aftermarkets.

The only reason I can see at this time with the aftermarkets( and their are some good Makers) is extreme Hp applications Only. Generally mileage does suffer, again I have heard that some mileage increases have been reported. I also know off two customers that have had the aftermarkets remove and factorys re-installed. . I can post the installation charge if you would like.

I only used the Cat Motor for illustrative purpose only, I can see that it missed it's purpose, sorry for the confusion... I also delete a post that was harsh. If it was email to you I apologize.

Thanks for the info Twest, I don't notice any haze at idle, just went moving. When I am crusing at highway speeds it will have a constant haze, and if I get into the pedal harder to bring up the boost it will lessen, but always there. But at 70mph and 7-15 psi boost it will smoke constant.

Thanks Guys,

Dustin
