How Have You All Figured How To Stack Various Boxes Is There A List Of How And Which?

Post which boxes, and most of the time one of us crazy folk have done it/ tried it

Like maybe:

TST/EZ

TST/Bully dog DL'er

EZ/DL'er

Quad/BD x-power

Quad/ VA3. 2

OR TOTALY nuts- TST/EZ/Bullydog DL'er

etc,etc

Let us know which you are think of

I stack TST/TS ramifirer, and the Bully dog power pup. It works great there is a lot of tuneing you can do. The best I have found in TST on 2/2 and the ramifirer all the way up and the power pup on extreme. Boy is there a smoke show and I maintain constant fuel pressure of 5-10 under full throttle. It smoke like a 12V. I put the stack on there the first day I got the truck and smoked the converter in one night. the next day the truck would barly move. So it is putting down some power. I have not tried the TST any higher yet because it already gets 40 psi boost at that and thats a little much for that little turbo.

How about a Quad and a VA 3. 1?

I think that a no-no, two pressure boxes...

Although connection-wise, It would install ok, But I think the gains would be none -(and a super-high rail pressure)

Why is it when everyone talks about smoke, its a good thing?

Smoke = unburned fuel

Smoke = horsepower out the tail pipe

Smoke = smog

I just don't get it, guess I am an old fart but heck I don't even care for smoke from my RM250.

Actually I have been researching a quad/VA 3. 2 stack and it looks good. Would I need more fuel pumping capability though? seems like it could suck the rail dry PDQ. 04. 5 with an auto.

I may try that stack. At minimum I would expect to upgrade the lift supply. I think more air will be needed to control EGT's with that stack before running the rail low.

I have the Quad Race box and a VA 3. 2 stacked on my truck. Great running combo. I usually run the VA at 50% and the Quad at 60hp for daily driving. Good for 21 mpg at a steady 75 mph cruise! When I want some fun I turn the quad box up. Even with my mods the EGT with the VA all the way up gets hot pretty fast. As for fuel, I have never had this stack on without my FASS. I put the FASS on when my EZ VA stack sucked the input line at the CP3 into a vacuum!!!!

Thanks Bpenrod, I was wanting to hear if the stack was code free and smooth.

I had my truck at a dyno day a couple weeks back, it posted 354 HP and 770 TQ with just a Xzillaraider 100. I have no other mods except for gauges and floor mats.

However I am going to add an AFE PG7 and TT, and a 4" MBPR exhaust (the Cat is sure to fall off during install) and that should be enough to let me have some EGT room and stack the quad. I would like to get 400 RWHP and 850 ish of torque but not so that it just slams against the transmission, u joints, gears etc like I was flipping a light switch.

BTW does it smoke much with this stack?

bpenrod you are killing me. Gotta get on a dyno. I am just itching to purchase the quad!!!! Can't wait to hear your results.

My favorite stack so far is the BDDL and the VA C3. 1. BDDL adds timing for EGT management and nothing I've tried beats the torque rise of the VA box. It is also one of the smoothest setups I've tried. (No jerky or notchy sensations when passing through certain RPM ranges. ) No unusual codes, although I do get the typical skim key code with the BDDL.

With both boxes on the low settings I can tow quite nicely with my stock clutch.

The smoke is not bad on the lower settings, just a little puff till the boost hits. With the quad at 140 and the VA at 50% it is a pretty good smoke show, enough to loose sight of the poor guy behind me. It smokes more as the weather warms up, plus me running the AC and startting in second gear to load the engine a little more puts out a pretty nice cloud until the boost hits. Once the turbo spools there is very little smoke.

And yes, I really need to get on a dyno! Working out of town is killing my play time!
