I am thinking of having a single stack coming out of the hood like scheids or eep but I heard that the rules for pulling next year will make it mandatory to have the exhaust exit behind the cabin. :{ Oh well I only pull at the local fairs anyway where they supposedly "tech" everyone

For the street class you are entirely correct sir! I agree with you on the "tech" comment... . they let a pherd around her get away with running nitrous... ... or they just don't know... . or care..... yeah that's fair to a #2 only CTD

Per DHRA and several other pulling orgs Exhaust will be required to exit behind the cab on all trucks that are required to be licensed or are licensed for the 2005 pulling season. It is a dot requirement that the exhaust exit behind the passenger compartment.

Wellllllllll, as Merrick put it, "Think outside the box. " ;) :-laf

I was gonna post a pic of Merrick's truck, but on here or DTR I just couldn't find one I liked.

I think that pics looks awful. I saw it @ TiM and somehow I think it looked better there.

What about each stack being fed independently from under the bed, then hugging the front corners of the bed. Do you think you could still fit a 4x8 piece of plywood in between them.

You tell me

Got smoke, It sure looks like the stacks are outboard of the wheel wells to me. Judging by the pic, I would say you can keep the stacks inside the bed and still have the a full size pickup bed. Thanks

stacks

I was going to post pics of mine but it looks like bmoeller already did :) Mine are turn outs but that is not the important part, I did my own but you can buy almost the same exact thing from Rob Thomas. and my parts all came from a local truck parts place.

Got smoke what did you use for size stacks and size pipe coming up to the bed? And what kinda price range are we talkin here? do you have any other pics of your stacks? Ben

Would have to agree. I don't think it does the truck justice.

Did mine for less than $600.

Just digging up this old thread because I have been shopping for stacks lately after getting hooked at Scheids

WELL... I thought scheids 5 inch stacks kit was something they made, well its not. It is made by Grand Rock Pipes - And they just resell it (not that thats a bad thing... ) for $437

So I called grand rock (thinking to get a better price) and they are a wholesale seller only, and only to full service truck shops.

Anyway, so they reffered me to BlackCloud diesel, and they told me $579  As you can imagine I thought that was quite a gouge in pricing for blackcloud...

In comes Ed from this ebay ad and also he has been mentioned in some other stacks threads as well. . Well his price is $375 WITH SHIPPING

Anyway, I am amazed at the difference in prices!

Ok, enough with my rant

Yup -- I've been looking on ebay too and seeing the kits from Grand Rock Pipes raging from $375 to $500. I'm having trouble getting past cutting holes in the bed... . If and when I can get past that, I think it would be really cool.

I noted that the auction said that can add internal mufflers very reasonable too... .

anyone ever put a stack up thru a topper? I work in a machine shop, and came up with a design to seal it, it's much like a double-wall chimney.

maybe I'll just dump it out the side in front of the tire, tho...

it's a pretty nice topper and I don't want to cut a hole if it's gonna be a place for cracks to start
