can anyone tell me if putting stacks on my truck will make it loud inside the cab of the truck also on a 01 quad cab is there a way to put the crossover tube under the bed instead of in the bed? thanks adam

adam: it depends how far ablove the cab of your truck the stacks are... . mine resonate pretty bad around 1900-2100rpms... my old miters resonated worse then my bullhaulers i have now

putting the stack cross pipe under the bed has been done..... im sure someone will chime with pictures

Tex -its your fault i have stacks lol when i saw your stacks  back in 04 at the fall brawl it was all over for me :-laf :-laf :-laf

The Reason I Ask Is Because My Kids Often Ride In The Back Seat Of My Quad Cab And I Wasnt Sure If They Could Stand To Ride Back There If I Put Stacks On It. Does Anyone Have Pics Of There Set Up Especially With The Crossover Under The Bed ? Thanks Alot Adam

I have 6" miter cuts on my dually and it is pretty loud with the windows down, and especially with the back window open. With the windows up though its not too ridiculous. Put a muffler on it, stack it and never look back. I'll never be without stacks again. H*ll, I put stacks on my smoker/grill and my go-kart. HEHE, they're good.

Here are 2 pictures of mine. I kept mine pretty low cause i didn't care for them to high above the cab. Noise in my opinion is not that bad, however i would put up with noise anyhow cause i love the sound. I put my crosstube in the bed. I have a friend that did his underneath and i wouldn't due it due to it getting pretty close to the fuel tank. He had put 5'' up through though and had to smash the pipe a little to get by the tank. with 4'' you would prolly be ok to get by the tank and then 5'' stacks. Mine are nothing fancy, but is get's er done!!!

if you get a muffler or two under there and some sound deadener, they're not too bad, but if they're straight piped, I think it would be irresponsible to expose your kids to it, because it WILL cause hearing loss!!!

Here are mine 5" I did not put them right against the cab, I want to put on some kinda rack. They are in the bed, under bed is to close to fuel tank(heated fuel vp44 bad mix).

Yea, I like both turn out and miter, I am going run my tunouts untill spring and then I will put miters on, at least with turnouts you don't get much water in them in the rainy season. :p

check my cardomain page, i have all kinds of pics on my stacks there, I love mine, they are quieter than my old pipe out the back, makes the truck sound like a rig, i love the looks they get too.

sorry, I was talkin' to tURBOdIEZEL... he used to have miters on his truck... I'm not a huge fan of bull haulers on a single wheel truck, but the black definately looks better than chrome would have IMO.

I had miters and curved tops on my truck... I liked the look of the miters a little better, but the curved tops made it so that I could actually drive w/ the windows down and not go deaf, and they made it louder outside the truck because they didn't send all the sound waves straight up

DOn't know wether this will be much help, but here it goes. The stacks that we put on my cousins first gen, we put teh crossover under the bed, we cut out the front cross member and welded in 4x4 tube steel, capped on both ends and just cut holes in the bed. Through the holes we ran 2. 5 inch bungs up into the bed abotu an inch, the stacks had a plate welded to the bottom, with 2. 5 inch holes in that. Stacks clamped to the corners of the bed. Pretty slick set up if i say so myself, stacks could be removed fro hauling hay and stuff liek that. he also made a flapper box with a straight pipe, so you could run a somewhat regular exuhast ;) . out of the box it went into the tube steel Kinda alot of bends, and alot of work, but a slick set up. Those stacks were prety loud, but he has a heavy foot also, kinda loud on lonf highway trips, but its also music to our ears!!! hope this helps, sorry for the long post
