:confused:Have a 2000 Dodge Ram 3/4 ton 5 spd 5. 9L 24 valve truck and have done a number of mods to the truck and eng. What I would like to know is if anyone has run the STAGE 1 and STAGE 2 AFE Air cleaner and notice any difference and if they could tell if the TURBO WHINE was any louder. I have the STAGE 1 now but have been thinking about going to thr other. I myself drive big rigs and sort of like that sound of the TURBO at work. Not any problem just thought I could get some input.

Thank you CGROME~TURBO

I am currently running a Stage 2 in my 2001 and was also missing the turbo silencer ring prior to installing the Stage 2. I don't notice much more turbo whine with the Stage 2 (coming from a stock airbox), but there is a much deeper rumble coming out of the engine, especially under load or acceleration. I know I enjoy the sound much better than the stock airbox. The engine felt a little more responsive just not necessarily more horsepower.

I have a Stage 1 with filter that has media in the end. Drill a 4" hole in the cowl right in front of the filter. My turbo sounds like it's in the glove box. The cowl is a huge air plenum that forces air right into the filter, like the old Scotty air intake systems.
