In an act of shameless self promotion, I would like to open a general discussion in relation to Stainless Steel DOT Brake Lines, for second generation 1/2,3/4 & 1 ton 2 and 4 wd models. This is a new product line and we would like to determine the demand for this product. These Stainless Steel lines feauture a Kevlar sheath with a Teflon inner lining and crimped ends. And these hoses are D. O. T. tested and approved. Unlike OEM rubber lines which expand, crack and deteriorate from the inside out, (most of the time with out warning)! Stainless Steel Hoses provide consistent Pedal feel without expansion. Superior protection from road hazards and temperature extremes due to the "State of the Art" Kevlar/Teflon construction. It is my opinion that these hoses will provide more benefit to our brake upgrade packages as well. I welcome your comments.

If they are resonably priced and easy to get quickly, I would use them to replace the stock ones during the next major brake overhaul. Or if I do a lift 1st.

I've heard good things regarding the use of the braided reinforced brake lines to reduce the feeling of brake fade during hard braking, since the braided hoses dont expand as the rubber does.

Are you considering extra length hoses for lifts?

Bob

Brian, We produce these hoses specifically for 1/2,3/4 & 1 ton, 2 and 4 wd Rams 94-99 models, both front and rear hoses. To further answer your question to whom we are, We offer Complete Brake Upgrade packages for CTD's as well as others.

Dear Bob,

Yes we are able to build longer hoses for lifted trucks, based on specifications provided by the truck owner.

Thanks,

Glenn

Glenn,

I had a friend change out his brake lines to stainless on an SUV, great improvement over the rubber.

I have a 2001 2500 Cummins 4wheel disc brakes with a 2 1/2" lift and would like to replace the rubber lines. Why do you not offer anything above '99? Do you have any upgraded pads? Thanks, Sam

Like BK, I would definitely consider SS/teflon lines when I lift my truck. Obviously, cost is a major factor, but the benefits are worth some investment. You only listed thru 99 model year, does that mean my disc/drum 2001 4x4 is not available? ... or just not available yet?

2000 and 2001 Hoses and Pads

The hoses for 2000 and 2001 4 whl disc and and drum rear are new applications which will be available shortly.

As for Cross Drilled Rotors and Carbon Kevlar Pads and Shoes for the 00, 01 and 02 we are shipping those kits now!

Do you have a web page that you could post a link to. Or can you post contct information to reach your company.

Thanks.

Glenn,

This is an excellent opportunity to ask the following question; Last week while rotating the stock Michelins on my 2001. 5 2500 4X4 Sport, I looked very closely at the rotors, front & rear. They are held on with those stamped clips you always see on front disks on cars. They also appear to have a definitive parting line between the rotor and hub, F & R. Does this mean they are two piece and can be removed without disassembling the hub etc? Just remove the pads and swing the caliper out of the way and give them a bit of help and off they come?

Also the rears look almost if not the same size as the front. Kind of in a hurry so didn't measure or directly compare but the caliper and pads looked virtually identical as well. Is this the case? Man those brakes are big & beautiful.

Thanks,

Todd

Don't you have problems with teflon cracking at lower temperatures? I had a set of non-DOT on my RX-7 and just loved them. I was warned about not using the car in freezing temperatures (not much of a problem on the west coast). But I expect to take my 6x6 to the snow.

If the temperature is not a problem I would be interested. You had also memtioned about different disks. Do you have a pointer to a web site? I would also be interested in a rear drum to disk conversion for my 98 1/2 .

CRACKING AT LOW TEMPS!

In relation to our Teflon tubing cracking at low temperatures. The Teflon tubing we us is DOT approved (unlike non DOT approved products which can), Our tubing has been tested for 72 hours continuious at Minus 40 f. Below, with no signs of cracking. which is Spec for this hose. The Manufactures actual range is Minus 100 below to 500 degrees above F. for this high quality grade hose we use.

Kevlar Sheath: The Kevlar Sheath is what actually protects and maintains the shape of the Teflon liner hose. Kevlar is the "State of the Art" for all Fighter Jets, RaceCars etc. It's vitually Bulletproof and the best product on the market, nothing else comes evan close! The teflon tubing liner has been Pressure tested at over 10,000 lbs consistantly. When enclosed in our Kevlar sheath which is then enclosed by our Stainless Steel outer covering, which provides Abrasion resistance and road hazard protection.

Our hose end fittings are Crimped so to comform to DOT Tested and Approved requirements. All hoses come with all Hardware, Brackets, Washers and DOT Spec. Labels. Orders are currently being taken for 1/2,3/4,1 ton, 2 & 4wd rams up to 1999.

2000 and 2001. 5 and newer lines will be available in the future.

The Rotor part numbers for the Front and Rear on the 2000-2001. 5 are different as are the Pad numbers. And the Front rotors are seperate from the Hubs, (Probably held together by the wheel studs). Carbon Kevlar Pads and Cross Drilled Rotor Replacements are available now!

I am a 12ver and saw you offer complete brake systems not just brake lines. Does this mean you offer a disc brake system for an older truck like maybe a 1996?
