I am having a problem with my truck stalling when I take off from a dead stop then quickly let up off the throttle,it just dies. forward or reverse it does not matter whether the truck is cold or I have been running all day. I can do it every time. One dalership says it is an adjustement to fix and another says flash the computer. I just changed the fuel filter just in case. It has been doing this since I got it 16k miles ago. has any body had this happen or know what I should do,. I have learned to just not let off the throttle so fast but what if you were backing a heavy load up a steep hill and it stalled... . oh boy

This was happening to me a couple years back, and I'm trying to remember what it was exactly that they did. It was a simple adjustment, something to do with emissions and idle, they fixed it under the emmissions warranty at no cost. I will try and find the service records (they're around here somewheres... . ) and get back to you on it.

What is your current idle speed? You should be idling at 750 rpm with the trans in drive and the A/C on ... ... . if your idle speed is too low ... the engine can stall ... esp if you have a low stall convertor in there ... easy to adjust!
