I got new gaskets to install with my new HTT manifold. The gaskets have a bead stamped into them (stamped bead around the orifice). Which way do they go on the exhaust ports - does the raised bead face the port or does it face the manifold? Same question for the turbo gasket. Does the raised bead face the manifold or does it face the turbo?

Thanks,

Ya know, I've wondered the same thing, and there probably is a correct answer (the service manual doesn't say anything, tho). But with that being said, I've put them on both ways on different occasions and so far no leaks.

I think what is important is to not reuse them, since once the "crush" is gone they probably won't seal as well.

Oh man, I can't remember. I think you put the bevel side in so as to mash it to seal against the manifold thus going the way the flow of exhaust goes. Have done two over the last year but have forgotten already. Either way is okay as long as you get a good crush and seal. If no leaks then I would say you have it.
