Just wondring how many are using performance formula in your rigs. I just tryed some and am impressed. I cleaned my engine bay last weekend and afterwords (water in fuel light) came on. I changed fuel filter and new AFE air filter. No change. The light stayed on. I refueled the truck today and added stanadyne. It runs smoother and seems to accelerate a little quicker

I run it religiously in mine. as to the light, you might have gotten some water in the external plug on the sensor maybe?

I've been running it all winter mainly as an anti-gel. I've never noticed any difference with it in there. The only thing I don't like is that raw Standadyne starts to gel up somewhere below zero and makes it hard to add. Due to that and the fact it's an internet order only for me I think I'll be using something else next year.

I used a product which is similar. . Lucas for 3 months last summer. My mileage improved from 18 mpg to 20 mpg. I stopped useing the additive and paid the price this week with my injection pump going South. The Dodge mechanic said it is the time of the year went the weather starts to warm up and the injection pumps go out. He said that I was the fourth this week. The poor grade of diesel fuel is the problem.

Standyne PF

I've used Standyne PF for the past several years in all my diesels. It helps quiet the engine and they seem to run a little better. It's funny, the other day I gave a friend a bottle of the stuff to try in his 6. 2 chevy van. He called me the next day telling me his van is noticablely quieter and didn't smoke white when he started it in the morning.

I ran the PF for 140,000 on my '99 and if nothing else gave me piece of mind in the winter. On winter fuel the noise and power change was noticeable. In the summer, I couldn't tell a difference. The 04. 5 is getting the same treatment. One thing I did notice... the couple of times I double dosed the fillup (stupid me) actually caused the mpg to go down. I guess this is a case of too much of a good thing that is not too good.

Does this stuff ever go bad? I came across a bottle I had stashed in my "winter toolbox" along with a can of heat, chains and a fuel filter. I noticed that this bottle, probably 4 years old, was much darker than the stuff I am using now.....

I had no Idea that stanadyne had a performance formula. The nice thing abaout Howe's is it even says on the bottle that you cannot do any harm by adding "Too Much" which is good.

I ran Stanadyne for almost two years and never noticed any difference. Just ran it for the lubrication properties for the pump. I am now runing Rotella DFA. The only reason I switched is because the local supplier that I bought the Stanadyne from was out. After running the Rotella I think I will stick with it because it is much less in cost and I get a different feel in the seat of the pants that I did with Stanadyne... ... ... . a thicker wallet.

I get mine in 5gal about $105 as I remember.



I run mine because:

1. Whole world going to LSF.

2. Lubricate the whole fuel sys better.

3. I think it will help the lp vanes function better.

4. I think it will help the VP when you go from high HP to low HP quickly ie stop light. VP is fuel lubbed, fuel flow goes from good to minimum (stop light), lub goes from good to minimum, but Stanadyne has already put an extre coating on the pump internals and helps keep it safe.

5. Recommended by 4 different high pressure pump rebuilders.

6. MY peace of mind.

WOW!! I had no idea this would get this much response. I have had a pretty busy weekend (No time for the computer)

The formula I bought was the PF. It is honey colored. It is a small bottle but it fits behind the seat . It was 5. 99. I am sure is is much cheaper in larger containers.

I don't think it added any hp, and will have to check for milage gains The diesel sure seems to like it though

Be careful carrying around a bottle that's been opened. Cap seal isn't all that good, and if you get this stuff in carpet the smell is horrible. Don't ask me how I know. Buy a metal fuel container with an o-ring cap if you're going to carry in the cab.

I carry mine in a Wal-Mart bag with the "handles" around the back seat release lever. I have the back seat stowed in the up position almost all the time. Keeps the PF upright and IF any gets out it is contained in the Wal-Mart bag. I also carry the 1/2 gallon PF and refill the individual 8oz bottle which is the one I "dump" in. Be careful NOT to dump the cardboard cap seal into the tank when you dump the PF 8oz bottle in the tank. I refill the 8oz at the pumps as the tank is filling.



Oh, I also double bag the bag for an extra layer of protection
