Powerstroke fuel filter change

40,000 MILES...no oil change

Hi all, kind of new here but get tired of cummins only wrapped in a

Dodge mentality. Maybe i'm kinda biased, but our family has run Dodge trucks for as long as i can remember. Starting with a 73 D100. This poor truck went thru H*ll. Including 3 brothers driving(ripping & tearing as Dad used to say). Loaded and hauled 9000#

of scrap in the bed . the bumper was 2" off the ground. constantly

beat and used as a skidder ,dragging out up to 20"-30' trees out. Old truck made it to 300k and the engine still ran(318)but md. road salt took its toll. Since then we have run several Dodges into the ground all with high mileage all very reliable. This is my first diesel pickup and I like the whole package. Being a diesel mechanic also made the which diesel engine question crystal clear. I don't agree with everything that D. C. does. But I think Dodge trucks get a bad rap sometimes,Not here as bad as other sites. But i still here that "wrapped in Dodge"saying too often . Of course everyone is entitled to there opinin, this is mine. So defend your "old Dodge"every chance you get. Remember there are 2 Rams out there with over a million miles on them. Not just the engine made it that far. When the PHORD andCHUBBY guys can point to one and make that statement I'll be a beleiver. Sorry so long just had to rant a little :) .

My first truck was a "cummins wrapped in a dodge" due only to the pi$$ poor which way will the truck go when I hit the brakes this time brakes, and the massive play in the steering due to a steering gear that had almost 3/8" of play in the pitman arm shaft. I took that truck back to the dealer (the original purchasing dealer and two others) over 7 times for these issues that were never resolved.

I almost traded it in on a ford, it was that bad.

Now I have my new truck w/ great brakes (4-wheel disk) that stop straight and steering that actually makes it feel like the steering wheel is somehow attached to the front tires. I love it. If the first one (a '99) would have been this good I'd have never traded it and would have felt this way all along.

IF THE DEALERS COULD HAVE FIXED THE '99 I WOULD HAVE KEPT IT. YOU LISTENING DC?

I no longer drive a "cummins wrapped in a dodge" I drive a Dodge Ram Cummins.

rams

i'm now on my 5th dodge 4X4. i had one pford, and one shivvy in the middle. my last phord cured me. it spent more time at the stealers getting fixed than it did with me driving it. NEED I SAY MORE??? 7k now on the new goat. love it more each day, not the least because of the awsome cummins... ... ... .....

CUMMIN BEATS STROKEN' ANY DAY!!!!!!:D :D

hey all,I know I probally preaching to the choir with most of you guys. and i know theres going to be problems with any brand out

there. I guess we've always picked good ones(Dodges that is)and

we've had alot of them over the years. I just disagree about one certain individual over at the Phord web site says about Dodge not being a good work truck. Mr. kenworth  . we've used and abused everyone(including my new one)on and off road six ways from sunday and they always come back for more. from what i've

read over there I know i should not take too much of what he says seriously. afterall he is a truck driver;) . I know all truckers are not that bad but there are some cowboys and know it alls who have never laid there hand on a wrench. I would post this over there but i'm not a member. but its here if anyone wants to drag it over. :) . but I figure it would be like talking to a wall. I've done my share of diesel repair on just about every one out there (even 7. 3s). and beleive it or not I think Ford builds a decent truck (god it hurt to say that :( ). but i dont think they'e any better than what we got. sorry so long winded. man my fingers hurt from all this typing. :D :D :D Doug

There's a reason that the term Power Wagon STILL brings images of tough and tumble ready...

I am mopar only... never had anything else... never will.

Over the years I've owned one Chevy, two Fords and then I got a taste of Mopar. My '75 one ton B300 Maxivan got me started. It was all but industructable. In the past ten years we've had in our family a '95 Dodge Cummins, '95 Plymouth Neon (screamer), '96 Plymouth Sundance, '97 Dodge Stratus, '97 Dodge Dakota, '98 Dodge Cummins, and now a '01 Durango and an '01 Dodge Cummins. I think our family likes Mopar. My highschool sweety even had a red '72 Cuda! THAT was a rocket!

Amen,Mopar brothers. Hey Power wagon I was driving on a back road close to west virginia last week and I saw an old power wagon sitting there hiding in the weeds,it even had a winch on front. Looked in pretty rough shape ,thought about stopping and asking about it but I remembered all of the other projects sitting at home. :) oh well might go rescue it any way. Hate to see a good Dodge rot away. I wonder if a b-series will fit in there;) . Doug

Mopar forever!

I bought my truck for the Dodge part 1st, Cummins part 2nd. Been a diehard Mopar guy for probably close to 20 years now-and I wouldn't dream of buying anything else. Don't get me wrong-I love my ISB. But if it had been planted in anything else but a Dodge I wouldn't even have considered it...

I have the Power Wagon hood badges that Geno's sells on my truck-as well as a fender badge from the '77-80 W-series on my tailgate. You wouldn't believe how many people either ask when Dodge started making Power Wagons again, or start fondly reminiscing about one they owned/droved/admired. Probably the most noticeable dress-up I've added-and believe me I've got a ton of shiny stuff.

New power wagon

. I know you all probaly seen at least pics of the new PowerWagon prototype. I got to see one up close at Mopar Nats. in Columbus this year. Man that thing is BAD*SS. I read on here about flooding D. C. with requests and interest. Needless to say I e-mailed them. Of course I got the standard D. C. form letter, but I don't think we should give up . keep buuging them maybe they will get the message. Don't know about that yellow motor tho,but hey we can fit a 5. 9 in anything can't we:D :D

I have owned 7 Rams. 2 gassers and 5 CTD's. Bought my first one in 94. Had to have the new body style Ram. It was a 1500 w/5. 9 v8. A year later"had to have a v10". Bought a 95 v10 Reg cab. kept it almost a year until the gas mileage almost broke me. Traded it for another brand. I came back to Dodge with a 98 12 valve 3500. Then I "had to have the new 24 valve". Bought a 99 quad Auto. After hearing about the new 6spd being offered I "had to have a 6 spd". Bought a 99 quad 6 spd. Then one day I " had to have 4. 10's". Bought a 01 quad ETC 5sp 4. 10. My current truck came along when I had to have another 6spd. So I purchased a 01 ETH. In the course of these 7 Rams I have put a grand total of $350 in repairs-front brakes on the 99 A. T. This was my one and only repair visit total. I also had one visit for a recall. 2 visits to the dealer total !!! I have problably been very lucky, but I dont drive a Cummins that happens to be in a Dodge, I drive a Dodge Cummins.

Boost You Are Good for the economy

Can't help but notice that you are pretty much keeping your Dodge dealer alive single handed.

I wouldn't expect ya to have many repairs either, since you are always in a few months old truck, or are you driving all of these 24/7?

Just kidding ya, really. My brother was about as frequent of buyer, GM though, getting married and having a couple of kids slowed that down, but didn't stop him.

Mopar to ya.

I started out as a Pford man. After my 641/2 Galaxie406 blew, went to Cheby 57 427 porkipine. After that had to go in the Army. While stationed in Savana a freind bought a brand new GTX440..... Convertible,Red,fo speed. This was a sweet car,I fell in love. When I got out my girlfreind(Daddy had bucks)was looking for a new car. Well,we went shopping together and you guessed it,ended up with a Hemi Cuda. Was really in love then! She sold the car,and I left her!Got hitched to a po girl, bought a wagon for a family car Chrysler town and country 440,huge boat!It was getting about 5 mpg with a holley and single exhaust. The wife said we couldn't afford the fuel. I put in the garage and went to work. Took the Holley off and rejetted an old Carter AFB,cut the old exhaust sustem off and put duallys with scotty glass packs, put a high performance coil on it. The wife was still griping when she heard it start. Then we took it on a road trip the next week. It got 22mpg cruising at 70-80 on the highway. Around town it got 14-17. Awesome machine. I have had a few fords and imports, but I am now pure Mopar.

Stand by your Dodge..

Me and my Dad have been standing by Dodge for awhile.

When My dad bought his Chevy (2001 Duramax/Allison), I hadn't heard of the TDR. We are now, not likeing this Chevy.

The Dodge hasn't had any problems,, just like the Chevy. Only, the Dodge does all the pulling alot better. In town,, The Chevy has much better manners, but hooked to 20K the Dodge Performs in style.

We have a Lincoln Navigator,, 'cause Dodge don't make a luxury SUV,, If Dodge had an SUV like an Expedition or Excursion with the CTD,, I KNOW that When my Dad got home TODAY< we would be trading our Navigator in for one.

A truck of Trucks,, DODGE!
