While on the Dodge web site filling out the order sheet for the umpteenth time for my dream truck, I discovered two different 6 spd transmissions offered with the diesel engine. The HD series being a $400 option. Anyone know what is up with this???

Thanks.

I noticed that too. I think their website is messed up (go figure). The light duty is probably for the V8 gasser.

I thought I saw while doing a search on this subject, that the new six speed would be used for the gas and the diesel options. Hmmm??

The light duty is the getrag 238 and is in Ram 1500 and Dakota. The heavy duty is the G56 and is used in 2500-3500 models.

A six speed is used in all trucks. Which one is detirmined by which truck it is and how it's equipped. :D

As klenger was stating, I too think it is a glitch in the works cause you can click on either trans and the site will accept it. Go figure!

Tomeygun mentioned something about this earlier. The HD for an extra $400. 00 is the NV5600 and the other which is at no cost is the G56 6 speed.

"WHAT? You can still get an NV5600 truck?"

No, only manual transmission available on any ordered truck w/cummins is the G56

You can still find the NV5600 on the lots if you spend some time looking.

I think when you select the cummins that site automatically selects the 6spd

and you do have an option of the auto

I don't have the option of an auto because I'd rather walk.

Thanks for clearing that up, that's what I'd been told before as well.
