Hello all,

I have been noticing lately a strange "crackle"-like sound coming from underneath my truck lately. It only happens around 1800 RPM or so, and generally when I am dethrottling coming up to a stoplight or something. I thought at first it could be an exhaust rattle, but I am questioning that now. It almost seems to be getting worse. Any thoughts?

Thanks in advance,

~Chris

You might ck. out the Fritz site for some tsb's and fixes. It seem the bed cracking and mounts caused these symtoms. I think some loose baffles in mufflers caused this complaint as well.

Good luck.

Thanks to the both of you.

I have checked out the bed pretty well... doesn't seem to be the problem. The sound doesn't make me think of that though... it is a reliable crackling, almost a buzzing sound from underneath--only at around 1800rpm at de-throttle. I suspect it could be the baffles... I will check that out too.

It reminds me of a catalytic converter rattling noise, but mine has been hollowed out. Don't understand it.

Thanks, I will check out the Fritz site.

~Chris
