Txredneck: SAT TV question

Ok I'm starting the official Star Wars Revenge of the Sith Thread.

Who all has seen it, and what did you think?

I personally have a date w/George Lucas tonight at 10PM and I absolutely cannot wait!!

Wow screw the crowds. I just got back from the movie theatre..... ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. If anyone has seen the original 3 and 1 and 2, you MUST see it! Even if youve seen the original 3, I think it would be worth seeing.

We went yesterday to the matinee. (My wife is the freak, not me :D ). We liked it, I thought it did a good job of tying up all the loose ends and bringing all the episodes together. There was some funny stuff, but there was some too corny for me parts too. Did you see the Milenium Falcon? I did. They made some good enhancements on the all digital Yoda.

I went to the matinee as well. It is the first movie I have ever gone to on opening day. I thought it was great and was surprised how light the matinee crowd was(saved 4 bucks). What was funny is that they had 2 large crowds corralled waiting for the next showing after ours and our theater was only about half full. We got there about 15 minutes early and pretty much got whatever seat we wanted. Did buy the tickets ahead of time though.

I too saw the Falcon... if in fact it was the Falcon. I am pretty sure it was not a one of a kind freighter.

When did they show the Millenium Falcon? I didnt see, thats OK I'm gonna go see it again :-laf

Also I thought they did a 100% better job w/Yoda in this one.

You had to be looking at the right place at the right time. In one of the scenes at a space port on Corsecant(Bet I spelled that wrong) you see it pulling in on one of the lower docks in the scene.

Coruscant - and you're making me really jealous 'cause I have to wait for Sunday. A friend of mine is spending all day in the theatre - he bought tickets for all the showings. I will definitely keep an eye out for the Falcon!

I was prepared to wait a couple of weeks but the wife felt sorry for me (My youngest son and best friend had gone Wednesday night to special showings)and asked if I wanted to go and the rest is history.

You would think after watching the movies multiple times and reading 20+ Star Wars books I could spell it right... ... but I keep saying it wrong in my head for some reason.

Ya wanna know something funny? My friend who's spending the day at the theatre - the same one who spent $1,000 apiece for two advance tix to Episode II, the same one who owns ALL the action figures and just about every piece of memorabilia ever made (including a life-size R2D2 Pepsi cooler and a Revenge of the Jedi poster) - pronounces it exactly the same way - Corsecant.

Hey, serious question - is it going to be too much for a 9-year-old to handle? My ex is making noises that our son shouldn't go because of how Darth looks before he puts on the black suit. My son isn't particularly sensitive or anything - I just need an answer to give to my ex before I take the boy.

If he's used to action movies with some violence, then he's probably ok. If he's seen all the other episodes and is fine with them and could handle a bit more darkness, violence, carnage then he might be ok. It's on the high end borderline of PG-13.

Good catch on the Falcon, I saw it, my wife didn't.

Let's not forget Natalie Portman is en fuego  :-laf

I think the end of the final fight scene between Ben and Anikin may be pushing it... ... ... ... I could PM what happens to you so you can make your own mind up and not spoil it for everyone else.

"Good catch on the Falcon, I saw it, my wife didn't. "

I'm going to ask the youngin tonight and see if he caught it... .....

Thank you for the offer, but I already know what's going to happen - I'm just wondering how graphic it is. I'm pretty sure he's going to go anyway, it's just a matter of what I tell his mother about it!

Got tickets in hand now, going to see it tonight at 9:00 pm. When my girlfriend bought the tickets they said to come a hour early to stand in line. I have read the story but can't wait the see the film.

Chris

I am problay only one of about 1% of the population that have never seen or read anything about Star Wars. I was possible turned off of this kind of movie by going to the Space Oddity 2001 movie. That was the most idiotic thing I have ever been submitted to.

Before you start feeling sorry for me, look at all the time I have saved by not having to stand in line for tickets and who knows how much money, then again I problay wasted my money on things that some of you would call ridiculous. :D What ever blows your hair back, go for it.

Tried to go see it opening night at the 12AM showing. We got within 15 people or so, before they sold out. :( Will try again.

This was the first time to stand and wait in line like that before. A little crazy to go see a movie at that time of day, but you only live once.

Saw the movie on the IMAX 90' curved screen... BOY!!! in the first opening shots flipping around the ships and stuff, got a little light headed ... hehe..... Got the motion of it.....

The one thing is that the kids are infants and there will be a gap for the 3-4 episopde where leia knows Darth and scorns him and such..... What happens in the politics and ruleings, and policies implied by darth in the "Empire"?? guess thats it..... Kinda like Bush... . :D

The injuries to Anakin is not bad... . All you see is a far away Amputee of the legs gone at the knee and one arm gone..... Then he slips down a slope a bit to where he catches on fire and burns but not too long and the features is not bad... .

The only bad bart is when he is on the table and all the injuries are seen... Only a minute... and only a few seconds on the face... .
