working on 05 dodge 3500 4x4 tubro diesel, this thing starts then stalls, when it does stall, the fuel pressure set point is 5,800 to 6,000 the actual fuel pressure goes up to 10,000 then stalles. only code stored was p0341,reading data , the cam senser is doing its job . using snap on scanner, it said that code could be caused by inj by passes too much fuel . when i can get it to rev to blowes black smoke . once it warms up it will stay running longer and the stalling is less. any thoughts would help. thanks

Sounds like one of your injectors may be pushing too much fuel, but that's a shot in the dark for me.

On the other hand, when I have seen newer vehicles start then stall, it has been because the security system/engine immoblizer has quit working and no longer reads/recognizes the chipped key. Fill out your signature so more knowledgeable folks who will come around can have a better idea what you're working with.

By the way, welcome to TDR.

OK,You need 3 component's to check 1st ,Pressure senor,FCA,LV. its so much easier to replace these with a good test sensor,by the time you spend on testing these on the truck you have more time into it then TM,if all these check out,, its injector time, only time and experience will help in finding the cause, although rare the CP3 also may cause no start conditions.

thanks twest for the info,i am going to try fca first, i ran the test for the tsb 14-004-05 all the testing pointed me to that. i know other things could cause this but i need to start somewere.
