Can anyone give the size of the 12 point starter mounting bolts, please?

I'm replacing the lift pump (37k miles) on my 2001 HO 6SP QC LWB 2WD and will have to buy a wrench. I don't own any 12 point sockets or wrenches.

Many thanks

Replace the lift pump from the top.

Remove two bolts and move the water separator/fuel filter housing to the side. Then go for the transfer pump.

Its an optical illusion. Its easier from the top. I took my starter off and was for sure it would be easier that way. Its not.

I'd much rather take the entire filter housing off. I ended up having to do most of the work from the top anyway and could do very little from underneath. Its a very long reach up to the lift pump while laying down.

Plus one bolt on the starter is "feel" only. And its hard to get torque on it to loosen. Plus you'll not take a diesel bath from up top when the lines drain out. Just get 4 more seal washers for the fuel canister for good measure.
