Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Starter Problem????

I started My 2000 2500 to move it out of the drive. When I got back in to start it it cranked once then nothing. I checked the batteries and the inspection glass was green on both batteries. all other electrical seems to be working. could it be a flat spot in the starter?

Ditto calling LarryB. The upgraded starter contacts are awesome. They're also alot cheaper than a new starter.

If not the contacts, also check the cable going to the starter. I've had the end break off before, on another truck.

I agree on the Larry B. starter repair kit. It is a lot tougher than the original, cheap, quick to install and makes the starter live on for a long time.

I am going to get the altn. kit after I get home.

Check your fuse under the hood and replace it. Your starter is getting ready to go, so replace the contacts asap.
