Starter problems??

Has anyone had any issues with the starter not working out of the blue on their '06s?? I was coming home from a sled pull in Ceres, CA last weekend and topped off the tank at the fuel station there. When I went to start the truck back up, I heard a "click" and then nothing when I went to start it. Checked all the fuses and they were Ok, next I wiggled the wires going to the starter and that seemed to help cuz after that the starter finally turned the engine over and truck started. No CEL, or warnings so... .....



Anyone have a similar issue like this? Remedies?

I do all my maintenance myself as well, guess I will check the contacts and see how they look. Truck only has 46K miles on it... ... . contacts go that quickly? I got over 150K miles of trouble free starting out of my original starter on my '98 12v.

yup my 06 died no waring or antything... . had to be towed.

Did the starter completely fail on you? What was the cause?

Some time ago I think it was Steved on the TDR found the yellow wire to the starter could rub and contact other metal at/near the starter. Check there first.
