One thing that needs clarification is that if you DISCONECT THE PLUG, you have also disconnected the ground for the solenoid. So if you unplug it, and jumper the white (or whatever one it is) wire to 12v+, the solenoid won't do anything. I just wanted to make sure some poor guy doesn't think the solenoid is bad from doing the test wrong. That could be an expensive mistake. If you want to test the pull-up coil, you must put 12v+ to the white wire, and ground the black one at the same time.
