Truck started and ran fine. Later went to start truck and nothing happened. Relay ok. Blown fuse in PCM, replaced. Turned starter on and blew fuse again, not turning over. Called Genos and ordered solenoid kit thinking that might be problem. What do you guys think?

New starter contacts a good thing to try and probably your problem. Since you already ordered them. I see you have an auto trans I have a standard and my clutch safety switch was bad I bypassed it. You might want to check if you getting voltage to starter if contacts don't solve the problem neutral switch could be bad; though I don't think that would cause fuse to blow but solenoid contacts bad can.

What Powers PDC Starter Pin 30???

Moe, What fuse was that? My Truck, a 2000 Auto there is no power to Pin 30 of the Starter Relay, CD called out for Fuse 9 in the PDC, also says that Fuse 9 is a spare, and physically there is no fuse in the #9 slot.

Any one Know what powers Pin 30, and do I have to Remove the PDC to fix it? I temporally have Pin 30 powered off of my Trailer Power Fuse... #@$%!

Many thanks in advance, Moose Oo.

If your starter relay is wired like a 96 then pin 30 gets its power from fuse no. 2/40 amp/green (it mite be another number look at inside of PDC cover) in the PDC. Fuse no. 2 gets its power directly from the battery.

A fuse usually breaks when to much power is being pulled by the component it is protecting ( or actually the wires), in this case the starter solenoid.

Usually when electric components start to bite the dust they use more power then when they were new (working properly).

In the PDC you will see a row of fuses on the left side. Count from the bottom fuse toward the engine to slot 8 (starter solenoid-20 amp). That fuse blows when the contacts in the solenoid welds itself together. Sometimes you can hit the solenoid with a board and a big hammer to jar the contacts loose enough to start the truck. I got my kit from GENOS and it works great. Good Luck, MOE

Just to let you all know I just purchased a set of contacts off of Ebay and they are exactly the same set I got from Larry B and put in my son-in-laws truck. The only difference was on Ebay I only paid 18. 50 plus 4. 50 shipping. Just put them in yesterday and they are working perfectly. So you may want to check Ebay before paying more elsewhere. I just hate to pay more than I have to with money as tight as it is. I couldn't believe the contacts in my starter they were almost non existant.

Found it, Thanks!!! Can't belive I didn't take a close look at the PDC cover and read the label for ALL the fuses. I guess that I was hung up on the Manaul's saying it waas the #9 big fuse  Any rate I have a Larry's B kit on it's way to me. Thanks again, Moose
