I'm working on a possible fix to my Walbro pump hard start problem. I need to tap into the circuit that runs from the ignition switch to the starter relay in order to power another relay during engine cranking. Anyone know what color that wire is and where the best spot would be to tap into it? Thanks!!

Steve,

According to the 2001 Dodge service manual, there should be a 14 gauge yellow wire for the start function which runs from the ignition switch, through the main connector (number 134) under the dash on the firewall, then to a "bypass jumper" where the clutch pedal position switch would be if you had one (up under the dash I think), then from there the wire becomes yellow with a red stripe all the way to the starter solenoid.

My suggestion would be to try and locate the yellow/red wire at the starter solenoid and work back to a convenient location from there.

Good luck,

John L.

Thanks!

John - Thanks for the info. I found the wire and was able to make some changes to my Walbro pump setup that I hope will fix my hard start problems.

Thanks again!!!
