The other day, I had shut off my truck to talk to a neighbor. When I went to start, the acted as if the battery was dead. I checked everything (except the starter solenoid fuse, the dealer replaced for $100. 00)

Dealer cannot explain this and I cannot establish a pattern.

One morning I replaced the fuse 5x's to start truck:--)

What is wrong with these dealers? Since when do people just replace a fuse without diagnosing why the fuse blew in the first place (I mean the dealer, not you dbeltz). :rolleyes:

Sounds to me like the solenoid is binding up. You should get a new starter under warranty.

Me too...

This same thing happened to me the other night. I drove over to a buddies house after work and parked behind his F-350. Came out an hour later and the truck was dead. Dealing with things like this at 9pm on a Friday sucks and the crap I got from my buddy was worse. Chrysler towed it to the nearest dealer with a service department that was open on a Saturday and the found a blown starter fuse. They replaced the fuse and it popped again instantly. Right now, the truck is sitting at a dealer about 100 miles from home waiting for a diesel tech to look at the starter on Monday. At least the rental car is free, but I already miss my baby. :{
