can seem to get my hands on a solinoid kit dielel electric say they are out anyone know were esle to find what i need for this problem of the bad solinoid contacts.

Where in CA are you? Have you taken the numbers off the starter and tried NAPA?

yes the napa out here in north county san diego was not very much in the know I showed them the part ,and all the #'s such a simple part too.

If there is a Cummins dealer try them. If not find a big rig shop. If they don't have the parts they will know who does. If I need something I check with the parts guy at the local Peterbilt shop. He can get anything I need.

I seem to remember reading in an early TDR that you can get them @ a Toyota dealer- they use Denso starters also.

for the time being i just made the contact for the solinoid. It was a little work with a 0 to 1 inch mic some laping a cold cisel ,vice and hammer it work perfect. I will order the kit when it is in stock from that az place.....
