Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Starter

Yesterday mourning I started my 96 and noticed that after the engine started a growling noise coming from the starter disengaging,so I shut it down and restarted and got the same noise. I do not know how long I'v been getting this noise as yesterday the only reason I could hear it, is with the drivers door open. Has anyone else had this problem or know what the cause might be. I have replaced the contacts in the starter about 10,000 mi ago and every thing worked fine untill now. Appreciate any help. Thanks in advance.

Can any one tell me a good source for new starters other then a Dodge dealer?

... . sounds like your starter is "dry".



Did you lube it up at all when it was out for the solenoid contact replacement routine?
