i am trying to start my 92 on a pallet. going to make sure it runs before i put it in my truck. while spinning it over it acts like it is not getting fuel. we have bleed the lines and everything. now to my question. do you have to have power to the shut-off silinode? if so how much? thanks for your help. whould like to hear this thing run tomorow.

thanks for the quick reply. i guess that is why it did not fire today. i will put that power on it tommorow and hopefully it will run. thanks again.

i have another question. i am missing what i belive to be the overflow screww on the fuel pump. does that need to be in there for it to run? i was able to get it to almost run today with a rag with gas. once i took the rag away it would die. also, i do not have the intercooler or turbo hooked up to the motor. that does not make a diference does it?

sorry for all the stupid questions. realy want to hear this thing run before i totally commit to the ford project.

thanks

Yes, you need the overflow banjo bolt. It has an orifice to keep pressure up in the pump. Gas on a rag sounds like a very bad idea. No, it will run with out the turbo, but above idle it will smoke badly from lack of air. Find a buddy that likes the smell of diesel or is not very smart, have him hold his finger over the fuel return port. Wa La--- instant orifice! :)

I hope your pallet is sturdy and you have the engine well secured, when/if that thing fires up you may have a tiger by the tail. bg

thanks for the heads up on the banjo fitting. now i just have to find one. also as far as having it secured. it is chained down and also we have the boom from the tractor on top of it.

as far as the buddy that likes diesel. well, that would be me. i was the one running the wire to the starter and got a face full of the wonderful black smoke as it was trying to light of today. it just made me want more of it Oo.

thanks for the quick replies.

I dunno what the Goal of your post is Jay, But if ya keep skating around telling bad jokes like that someone may think you need a hockey helmet strapped on when you are out Drinking coffee at coffee nite :-laf

it fired off today. we had a bad wire on the fuel shut-off. got that fixed. hit the starter and it came to life with not even a full turn on it. it was loud and smokey and verry, verry COOL. no hockey helmet was needed. it did not even move much. no banjo fitting so it did not make much power. it did make 60 psi on the oil.
