Just a simple question... I don't think its doing any damage, but...

Sometimes I'll start in 3rd, usually any time I'm rolling already or when I'm starting on a downhill slope. I don't rev any higher it or slip the clutch any longer than when I start in 2nd. This isn't causing more wear on my clutch than starting in 2nd every time is it?

Thanks in advance.

It means that you need bigger tires. :-laf

for about $800 you can go to some 3. 31's in the rear M80.

seriously... if you're not slipping the clutch grossly you're not hurting a thing.

I launch in third when i race but have to slip it for the first 15-20 feet or so. when that pedal comes all the way out at 60PSI of boost you better be holding on :D

My clutch was built to handle this sort of thing. The rest of the truck (everything Dodge) i cant speak for LOL

I hear ya on that Todd. I will be doing that pretty soon too. I think I am going to go with some bigger wheels/tires soon, that should be much more economical than regearing. This truck is getting a Drag Comp (sitting on my desk as I type) and some other stuff here pretty soon... injectors and some little twins later on down the road. This truck will be my tow pig. I'm building a race truck S... L... O... W... L... Y out of a mid 90's S-10 and a 12-valver. Until then this truck needs to entertain me.

Thanks,

R. J.
