Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Starts when cold, not when warm

My Dad just called me from Colorado where he is hunting and said that he is having trouble with his '96. Maybe someone here can help diagnose. His truck starts fine in the morning, just like it has for the past 10000+ miles, but after it has been running and warms up if he shuts it off it cranks without starting. After alot of cranking it usually starts. I suggested he buy a 24 V like mine but he would rather get home with his

This is the first thing I would check. Tell him the next time it doesn't want to start, to leave the ignition on, and get under the hood and lift up on the solenoid. If it goes up, then its probably the relay, cheap fix. Us dads know that relays are cheaper than fuel pumps for 24 valves, so I doubt he will trade!
