Startup problems - help!

Hey guys. I had a weird problem show up today that I have never seen. I have a 99 Ram, QC 4x2 auto. My wife started up the truck in 80 degree weather today and for about 3 seconds, the engine went hi-low idle like someone was tapping on the pedal about 5 times but she didn't touch the pedal. She waited for the wait to start light. On her way back home from the RV shop, she said it did it again. I'm wondering if you have seen this anyone? I drive it all the time and today was the first time it happened. Seems to drive great once the thing gets to normal but it takes a few seconds.
