Ordered a Garmin 2620 Streetpilot

Happy Birthday, Rhondasway!

Hi, I am new to Ram ownership and this website. I have a '01 Ram 2500 and love it. One strange thing I notice is that every time I exit the rig I get a good static shock when I touch the door. Every time. It didn't do this on my last truck, also with cloth seats. Any suggestions? I plan on trying some spray on anti static stuff my wife has. Thanks

static shock

Keeps you on your toes don't it? :eek: I've got the same problem as I would think most of us do. I tried the static spray and it works good for a short time... but it smells bad. So what I do is when I open the door, put your hand on the door frame "metal parts" BEFORE you start to get out. that way the charge does'nt have a chance to build. Hang on to the door till your out and the door is shut. Seems to work for me most of the time!

I have a particular pair of shoes that when I wear them the same thing happens to me... try a different pair of shoes first thing!

We have a '00 GMC Jimmy with cloth seats and it does the same thing. I do what the others have posted... touch something metal while moving around. Also, if you are holding the ignition the key in your hand preparing to exit the vehicle, touch the key to something metal, it will discharge the static electricity without shocking you.

Another one of several reasons we ordered leather seats in our last three trucks... no static shock when exiting the truck. :D
