Goodyear v Freestar G rated tires

BFG Comm T/A Tires for truck?

Anyone see anything wrong here?? So I'm moving to North Carolina in the spring and I'm thinking of towing my G/F's Altima which weighs approx. 3100 lbs. Now I'd be towing it with my tacoma (3000lbs. 4x4,reg cab, 5 speed) with a 2. 7 liter 4 cylinder that produces 155 Horsepower and 177 lbs of torque. Is this a really bad idea?

Anyone know what the terrain is like?

I realize the rockies would not be fun but after that could I get up to freeway speeds?

do I have to use a tow dolley or could I take off the CV's and tow it with a towing bar setup?

and where could I buy this stuff if you? (the reader don't have it for sale. )

FYI... this is an ad I found on a Utah newspaper!!!

Whats happening to Double M Transports? Maybe you should think about taking a southern route and avoid our High Country passes. Just a thought. Best of luck.

Double M had to shut down for the time being, and take on a full time gig with the county due to cheap rates! Let the county taxpayer fund my bad habits for the time being !!:-laf You know... drag racing, hopping up the mighty Cummins powered trucks, etc. And read the last sentence in my original post. ;)

It depends on where in NC you going. Coming from GA/SC you would be OK. But I40 has some long climbs and down grades in TN and NC. You could still do it if you keep your speed down and under control. Long climbs take time and the transmission can get hot even a manual. If you can feel the shift lever near the transmission is a good way to keep and eye on it. If it is too hot hold without releasing stop and let it cool down. Those small trannys don't have much capacity to handle the heat.

Mark, me too! I've been on boards for 3-4 years now, and just found out that if you click on the little icon in front of the thread title, you go to the new posts. You don't have to go thru the old ones to get there.
