$85 for a Positive Battery cable???:--)

OUCH!!

Is there another source for these?

The guy's at cummins Power Southeast think they can crimp a new end on with all the attendant wires.

Getting ready to hit the road and head north so it's gotta be right and be able to start.

$85?!? That's absolutely outrageous!

You should be able to pick up the cable at any shop that sells welding supplies, and the ends at a NAPA or similar place. Who knows--the welding supply shop may have those too.

More Stealer Prices

Called a dealer, ask if he had any 03 Dodge Ram Diesel Trucks on the lot. He advised he did and tomorrow was the last day we could deal. He was selling one with Leather and all the bells Listed at $41 K, would sell for $37K. He was going out of business and dodge was transfering his inventory to another Stealer. My Question is are these New Trucks going for around $37K or can they be bought much cheaper than that??

throttle cable

I went to the stealer today for a throttle cable. They wanted $97. I can't find it at any auto stores. any ideas?

I just picked up both the Pos & Neg cables online from www.PARTSWORLDWIDE.com

The cables actually came from a dealer in NC

POS(+) P/N 4487113 $58. 30

NEG (-) P/N 4487114 $46. 73

When I started looking for the cables I got dealer prices ranging from $80 to $130 per cable. I also discovered that most dealers on the west coast did not stock any and the (-) cables was back ordered 2-4 weeks.

I used a repair lug on my NEG cable while I was waiting for the cables to arrive but it took some work to get a good enough contact from the lug to the cable to make it reliable. I wouldn't use them for anything but a temporary solution. A poor ground can cause all kinds of strange problems.
