Does anyone know the difference between the Steel and Poly 2" lift spacers? (Besides the obvious $50 difference)... .

How about the Scotty Ram Air 3? Anyone know anything about it? Good, bad, ugly? Price? I know wildcat sells them... .

Thanks!

Andy

The only steel spacers I know of are the tuff country's. I've seen them in person and know people with them and they aren't that great of quality. They have welds on them that could break where the other brands don't.

There are alot of aluminum spacers. Rancho, procomp, bds, etc. and they work well.

The daystars work great too, and are available in diff colors. I just got my spring compressors today so I can install my daystars.

Spacers

Just my opinion but why not go with skyjacker coil springs??? Just about the same cost, rides better than stock, rides better than spacers and no unsightly chunks of steel or poly wedged on top of your springs. You can shoot them with black paint or powder coat them to match the originals (they come SJ red). Just my 2 cents. Karl

Which SJ coils do you have? I was under the impression that the 2. 5" coils for the 2nd gen lifted the 3rd gen's more than 2. 5" more like 3. 5 or 4"

Part #D25 through Summit Racing... these are the same ones I used on my 01. If I remember correctly, they lifted my 03 exactly two inches (it's been a while!). This was also prior to my winch being installed. They were perfect on my 01 and same results on this one. I think they were about $130 ish. Karl

Correction... . not the "same" ones, just the same part numbers from my 01. There is no way, at least on my particular truck, that they would lift 3-4". Maybe on a 2wd :D

Karl

Hey thanks man! Shooo 'nuff, I looked at Skyjackers website... coils are 2-2. 5" of lift. Part number is D25... summit part number SJA-d25. They are $149. Looks like the way to go!

Thanks,

Andy

Yup, I'm gonna go with the SJ coils too. I went and measured the installed height and it is right about the same for the 02- trucks.

Looks like I have a set of brand new daystars for sale.

Gonna call 4wp and order those and the Superlift 2" rear block kit.

Now gotta decide on which shocks.

Yeah, I like the look of the Bilstein 5100 series. . kind of a brushed aluminum look... Jackit.com sells them for like $71/ea. Of course everyone seems to love the rancho's. I just don't care for the white shocks. :(

I've always not liked rancho's, they seemed really crappy to me, although I've never tried the RSX's.

I wanted to run bilstein 7100 remote res. shocks but then I'd need to make an eyelet mount for the top of the shock. The 5100's are the same as far as I know, only 1/2" eyelets available.

Then even if the top mount was fabbed (or dick cepek upper dual shock brackets would work) the bottom eyelet is only 1/2" too and the stock bolt is quite abit bigger so that would leave room for the bolt to slide in the bolt holes if you used a 1/2" bolt.

I wonder if the bushing from the custom fit shocks for the rams would fit in the eyelet for the 5100's? Then it would be easy to make em fit.

BTW 71$ each is a little high for that shock.

I was thinking of the edelbrock remote res shocks. Anyone tried them? They have a shock that will fit the 01 ram w/ 3-4 " of lift that might work.

Well after my last post I called and talked to shane at bilstein (west office).

He gave me some 5100 part numbers to look over that will bolt into the stock shock location for a 2-2. 5" lift. I just need to take some measurements of the stock shocks to figure out if they are the correct lenght. If everything seems ok I'm gonna order a set and my coils and blocks, and I'll post the part numbers I ordered if you would like them.

CIverson, YES, please post a list of your part numbers, as I'm getting ready to do the exact same thing. Also what tires are you planning on running?

Ok, I got a chance to verify the lenght and stuff of the front's.

They are 24. 5" extended. The stockers are about 23. 5 from my quick measurements. They are PN BE5-6681-H5

Haven't verified the rears yet. BE5-6682-H5 is 26. 5 ext. and Be5-6647-H5 is 27. 5 ext, but he was worried about the longer shock bottoming out since it's compressed length is greater (didn't get a measurement of the stockers).

Hopefully I can order mine today.

Gonna run stock tires for awhile until I got more cash, just bought too much already ;). When the time comes I'm gonna get BFG M/T's 35x12. 5x17's
