I am in need of some help on this one. About 3 weeks ago I installed the Solid Steel 3rd gen trackbar and mounting bracket. Everything seemed fine until this week. With maybe 500 miles on these improvements I start to hear a noise in the front end. With the truck setting still on hard surface and turning the steering wheel side to side it seems to me that the front axle is sliding as if I had the 2nd generation tracbar on the truck. My wife turned the wheel and me under the truck (how brave am I) it appeared I had some moving parts that maybe aren't supposed to move. Could the bushing in the SS 3rd gen trackbar be worn already or do I have another problem? I like the truck but don't want to chase my tail on this problem. Thanks for any help on this one.

I had a 3G SS trackbar installed on my truck by a shop. Pretty soon everything loosened up again. Took it to another shop for a second opinion and all it needed was to have the frame side bolt tightened up. Wasn't torqued correctly the first time. Maybe you'll have similar luck.

IIRC, the Fall Brawl dyno day is next weekend in Pickletown. Bring the truck; we'll figure out what's wrong. And fix it. :)

fest3er,

Thanks for the invite, but I can not make it. What might you suggest I look at? Or do you possible have a shop I could visit later? I talked to RIP @ Source Automotive where I bought the SS trackbar and bracket. He told me to look @ the control arm bushings to see if they were worn.

Thanks again for the invite and help.

CBeard - let us know what you find out. Hopefully it's not the SS Trackbar bushings already . . . I just ordered the adjustable 3rd gen bar and bracket for mine. PLEASE let "me" know when you get it figured out. . .
