I have got a 96 4x4 that is leaking power steering fluid at steering box on the pitman arm side has anyone installed the seals themselves, and is it a big deal?Thank you in advance

i thought mine was leaking at the gear also,,it wasn't,,check the timing cover bolts,,i had one backed halfway out and several others loose,,dripping all over the p/s gear and every where else on that side of the motor,,,the fan made a real mess of trying to find that leak,,i thought i would need a new gasket but tightening them stopped the leak,,still dripped for a couple days on the floor because of every thing being oil soaked in that area,,i gotta clean the motor as soon as it warms up outside. i bought the seals for the gear but didn't need em,,real salty for 2 little seals

Hookemup, my power steering pump leaks down onto the box. I thought at first it was the box, but it wasn't. It leaks right onto the locknut where the shaft goes in. I need a new pump and am thinking about a new box, too, to correct wander problem. You probably already checked, but thought I'd let you know-RkyMtnRam.
