2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Steering Box leaking

The end plug in my steering box has a 1 1/2" horizontal crack in it.



Has anyone had this problem? Do you know if the end plug is available as a separate part? Does it have a purpose other then access to the internals?

JB Weld works wonders on sealing a variety of items if you can keep the area clean enough for the initial cure.



As far as a replacement end cap - maybe one of the rebuilders would part with one. Call these guys and see if they can offer one:

Didn't think about JB. Might have to try it if all else fails. I can take it out and clean it no problem.
