If the answer is out there I apologize in advance but I can't find it. I recently had a broken tie rod end and installed the Mopar 08 steering upgrade including a new pitman arm. (# PK362AF). The steering is not right and after rechecking the alignment, u-joints, and the everything else a couple of times I think the problem is in the steering box. I disconnected the steering components from the pitman arm and everything works smoothly below but when it's reconnected the steering is tight. In a turn if I let go of the wheel the truck will remain in a turn. I am going to replace the steering box but I read somewhere that there may be a compatibility issue with some boxes and the steering upgrade. Does anyone know if the Borgeson replacement box (# 800116) will work with the 08 Steering Upgrade. Thanks.

I took the truck back to the alignment shop. I described the problem and had it rechecked. The alignment guy, who has done a lot of good work for us in the past, said he thought there was "something going on with the steering box. " It took quite a bit of work to get the pitman arm off when I did the steering upgrade and I am considering that maybe I damaged the steering box during the process.

I had this happening on my 2000. Left turn and it would not return, right turn and it would. It was a small crack in the splined shaft where the steering shaft (from the steering wheel) attaches.
