Is that for a 2wd box placement? When you go to crossover, its no longer 4X4 box placement.

If it were me, I'd get some thick wall bushings, and weld them to the inner face of the frame, and make a plate to weld to the inner C and effectively box the frame, with spacers around the bolt holes so the plate will not be pulled inward. Thats what I did with my 90 offroader. With 38" tires, a detroit locker, and beating off road there is no cracks. It needs to be boxed, or plated or something, because the frame will crack with crossover on a 4X4, even a pavement pounder.

Yes that Bracket would work but with crossover would you really need it ? I had 39's on my crew and when I went to crossover it took alot of the stress off the frame .

It changes the stress from pulling forward and backward on the frame, to a side to side stress. It starts twisting the steering gear box on the frame, and it will crack the frame. My standard cab 440 powered 75 with 33" tires cracked the frame at the bolt holes. Its not if the frame cracks, its when.

As always Sam(aka Mad Max) went the extra mile in the fab department, built a bullet proof setup and then went and took pictures of it, all to make the rest of us look like lazy, inferior builders with no computer talent:-laf I basically did the same thing to my 90, without the extra brace. Of course I did mine with the entire front end intact, radiator and all, from undernieth. I'm sure it was WAY more fun then the way Sam did his. :-laf

Waaaaall, some people just ain't quite right! :-laf :-laf

Well, I was hoping to do this easily:rolleyes:, now that the motor is back in the truck it'll be slightly more difficult.

From what I read the bracket that I referenced will bolt up to the 2x4 location, which is where I'm at now. I was kinda worried that you guys would shoot down that bracket for being too weak, and I guess that if I'm gonna do it, I might as well do it right.
