2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission steering column sqeak

I've gotten a new and very annoying sqeak in the steering column, but only when I turn the wheel. While going straight, everything is fine, turn to the right and every bump or vibration causes a sqeaking / chirping noise. Turning left it's not as bad.



Any ideas about what could be causing this and how to fix it?

I have it too, only it is more of a groan. I haven't had to a chance to check it out yet. It feels like a bad bearing in the column.

Just went through that myself . Sprayed the steering rag joint and where the shaft went through the firewall with kroil and it dissappeared .
