On March 13 I wrote about a problem with my 03 3500 4X4 4 door Diesel steering gear locking and not turning to the right, after flushing the system and putting in fresh fluid. it worked just fine for 1508 miles.
Now with 59418 miles on the odometer it did it again this time I was stopped and the steering wheel would not turn to the right from a positon of about 10 degrees to the left of center, it would turn to left to the stop. I jacked it up and removed the return line from the cooler and drained the oil into a clean container for later straining (I did not find any foreign matter in the fluid).
I manualy turned the wheels full left and full right and then with power off turned the steering wheel full right and then left, refilled with fresh fluid and everything is fine now.
I need suggestions and help as to what I should do. I am afraid to change the steering gear box alone and chance something beeing missed in the pump and reservoir.
Any help will be greatly appreciated. Ches Pence, Quincy CA
