My buddy is having trouble finding the right steering box for his 93 250 4x4. He has looked a lot of places and just cant seem to find it. Where can we get one of these?

I got one from NAPA last year. They didn't have it in the store, but had it the next day for me. Also had to order the hoses going to the pump.

I don't mean to hijack this thread, but speaking of the steering gear box, can extra play or slop be adjusted out using the allen head on top?



My truck has a lot of play in the steering and at first I assumed it was the joint, but it's actually occurring inside the box.

Yes, you can adjust the play out by turning in the allen screw. Be careful though, a little bit of adjustment goes a long way and it's easy to go too far and bind the box up. Don't go more than 1/4 turn at a time, making sure to hold the allen key from turning when you re-tighten the 5/8 locking nut.
