Steering guage mount ideas and paint for 06

Has anybody ever heard of anyone actually replacing the top part of the steering column with the guage mount? I really like the mount but it would be cool if you could completely replaced the stock top cover. Second, does anyone know where to get the new 2006 interior paint to paint the steering column mount. The interior is Medium Slate Gray. Everywhere I look, I cannot find any of the new paint for the 2006. All i can find is the beige colored paint for the pillars and the areas above the windshield.

Can't answer them the way you'd like, but I installed an Autometer single column mount on my '04. I have a boost gage in the pilar (SRT-10 mount) and the pyro on the column. Pix in my gallery. I didn't remove the top cover - I just mounted the gage mount over the existing cover. Color isn't an exact match (black vs. slate) but I never notice it and to date, no one has said anything to me one way or another.



Like I said, not exactly what you were looking for, but... .

I have the autometer dual pod steering column mount. I don't think you could actually replace the top steering column cover, because it is designed to fit over it, so it is slightly larger.



If, you find the paint (please post where if you do) and take your time mounting it, it will look as if you did replace the upper steering column part. The fit is very good on this mount. The seams line up very well.

Reason i asked the question is that I called a dodge dealership the other day and they said it was not available yet for the 2006 medium slate gray color. Didnt know if you could get it anywhere else. Just called a different dodge dealership and they have it listed! Ordered two cans of the 2006 Medium slate gray color spray paint. They are $8. 30 a can and the part number is 5134799AA. This is awesome, i guess i can get the steering column guage mount now for the 06 since i got the paint on the way. Hope this helps some of you in the near future.

Just ordered the new 06 paint in the medium slate gray yesterday and the dodge place was already calling me this morning to let me know it is in. I cant wait now to get the steering wheel mount for my 06 when it comes in because I can paint it now. Thanks fellas.
