2014 2500 4x4, I have had this happen for the 3rd time, the steering linkage that runs from the pitman arm to the right wheel, the adjusting sleeve with both nuts, comes loose and it will rotate itself to unthread itself. I took it to the dealer the last time, they said they had never seen this, and tightened it up for me. Now it has done it again. I know when it happens, the steering wheel is not centered. So my question has anybody else had this issue, and what did you do to fix it.
I had to tighten it up again tonight, I used a wrench and found me a 3ft piece of pipe and tighten the crap out of both jam nuts.
Any suggestion would be great.
Thanks

ok, well I would have thought the dealer would have done this by the book. i didn't see them tighten it up so i dont know if this was done correctly, well i dont have a way to verify this of what i have done but i gotta be close to it with a 3 ft extention, and using both legs and gave it hell. i thought about loctite, but i thought i would see what you all had to suggest

I have seen more than a few reports on the various Ram forums of this happening. It also happened to me. My opinion is the threads are way too loose of a fit which makes it easy for the nuts to back off on their own. I Loctited mine, torqued them down, and painted a new stripe so I can tell if they start backing off. No problems since then, which was maybe a year ago. I filed a report with NHTSA.
