I will keep posting this in hopes someone can give me an answer. My 02 requires too much effort to steer and brake for a modern truck. Steering is difficult in tight quarters. I know this problem has been discussed before but I can not find in the old posts any solution or if there even is one. My other trucks-Ford- will steer with one finger and stop with little pedal pressure. Is this something that is generic to this 02 model?

My 02 brakes nicely and the steering is firm at low speeds only, but never unreasonably stiff. At speed, you can steer with one finger.

Tires are 265 Michilens(sp. ) Front end is free. Truck has 43000 miles-4 wheel disc model. Don't get me wrong, truck is driveable but it is the first thing anyone that drives it notices. Using it every day to launch my boat is getting to be tiresome. There are no leaks and the pump is quiet it just does not seem to develop enough pressure. I was wondering if anyone has found a way to change the pressure relief valve or if there is an upgrade pump out there.

Mine steers easily unless I'm stopped. Before I assume anything, I'd check tire pressures first. I'm running 45 psi rear, 55 psi front unloaded with the stock michelin tires. Let us know what you find.

Thanks,

George
