I've noticed a strange binding in my steering lately when I go around tight curves. Almost feels like it's in 4WD on dry pavement but it's not. Anyone have any ideas? I thought maybe the U Joints were going dry. Everything that can be lubed has been and P. S. fluid full. Thanks for any advice ! Love this web site !

Do you have a lsd? If so it sounds like you need to add one more bottle of friction modifyer into the differential.

Moparnut,

My guess would be that one of the u-joints in your front axles is bad and binding. Jack up one wheel at a time and rotate the tire when angled as in a turn. You should feel the bad joint as it binds and releases. HTH's

Holy cow guys ! I jacked her up and the lower ball joints were about to fall out. This was allowing the u joints to bind. After 9 hours I went ahead and replaced all 4 ball joints and U joints. I used Moog parts with grease fittings, the factory stuff was very rusted because of lack of lubricant. Thanks for the advice. By the way, a $35. 00 u-joint tool saved me a lot of frustration!
