I'm getting ready to replace the intermediate steering shaft on my 97 4x4.

What are the experiences with the Borgenson and the Flaming River

replacements? Pro or con input would be helpful.

Thanks

Steve

I've got 55K miles on my Flaming River now and have no complaints with it. It's still plenty tight.

The one on my 97 started clicking at about 80k. I bought a new Dodge relacement for about $95, and it was an updated part #. It looks like the same one they put on the later Rams, and at 160k, it's still like new. Might be all you need. They must have realized they were having problems with the older design.

I'm the same a Hemi. 3 years and all is well in the shaft dept. About $250 as best as an old mine can recollect. :)

I would assume that my 99 was built with the updated shaft, and at a little over 90K it is sloppy and clicking. FWIW, I would not put the Dodge shaft in unless it was free.

I like my borgeson. Put in last fall and have about 40-50k on it over these great ski jump I-10 roads in Louisiana. It is still as tight as new. JMHO
