steering stabilizer on '03

Hi, I've searched this forum , but found no results, and feel dumb for asking, but how do you remove the stock steering stablizer shock from a 2003 dually? This is my dads truck, he just ordered one for it and asked me to put it on, so I said sure, will only take a few minutes like mine did on my 99. On his truck, the one end of the shock bolt goes through the track bar and I cant seem to get it out, unlike on mine where there is just two U bolts holding the assembly. I was doing this when it was getting dark, and was freezing, so I got annoyed and said I'd have to get under there and fool with it tomorrow, I might figure it out in the daylight hours, any info would be great, oh, i was beating on the bolt and cant get the nut to go back on now, so I definitely got to get this new one on, haha.

The bolt is tapered, you can put a heavy piece of metal on one side of the bolt(like an 8 pound maul) and hit the opposit side with a hammer and it should pop out. bg

I had to use a torch to remove mine. I beat on it with a hammer and couldn't get it to budge, I started by heating it and using a hammer, then i got impatient and cut it out.
