I haven't personally heard much about this company but I am also interested in any TDR members that may have info. This looks like an interesting setup.

That stabilizer is for the 1994-2002 trucks and works great for those, how ever it's not for the 2003 and up trucks as I don't believe they have the same problems as the earlier models.

Let me retract a little bit, it appears that Marv does have them for the 2003 and up trucks but this is his web site Marvs Business

The other web site was his old partner, if you do a search you can find out what happened between the two of them but it wasn't pretty. Personally I would go with www.solidsteel. ca and not www.solidsteel. biz but that's just me.

Anyways on my 2001 3500 I would not be without my steering stabilizer, it made great improvements in the trucks handling. Maybe some 3rd gen guys can help you more with that though.

Tim,the soildsteel ca. which is the windecker machine in canada is the site which I am thinking about buying from and you are correct, it does list 2003 and up models for the steering stabilizer. Thanks for the info. coobie :)

I have installed the DSS kit and track bar kits on two 2001's at work and they have been great. Didn't use the adjustable track bar though, but they look great to me, should be very useful for a lifted truck.

I doubt you will see any improvement in steering on a nearly new truck. I would definitely recommend them on a new truck to prevent steering box wear :)

I have installed several of Marv's braces on 2nd gen trucks and they made a large improvement

hmm. . Doesn't seem compatible with the Kore drop blocks.

Looks like it would work with the KORE blocks to me. It is just a 1/4" plate that slides under the swaybar mount. The KORE blocks come with longer bolts, and there is plenty of room on the side. JMHO

ugh. In that case I'm back to my worry that there won't be enough room for clearance between the pitman arm mount and the newly dropped sway bar. Looks like a tight fit in the pictures they have, unless our 3rd Gens are drastically different than the pic.

I don't think you would have a problem. If you do mill 1/4 off of the sway bar blocks. That would put the sway bar right where KORE designed it.

You might want to call Kent or Gregg about using both on a third gen, I don't think it will work. The steering brace will not work on a second gen with the kore drop blocks. The frame end should work fine, the problem is with the bearing mounting plate, if you lower the sway bar and leave the brace against the frame the swaybar intersects the bearing plate on the brace.

If you lower the brace and sway bar together the shaft extension that screws on the steering box is not long enough.

Coobie-

Dont buy a socket for the sector shaft nut ive got one thats been custom EDM'd out that your more than welcome to use. Both CPoling (hudson) and I have the DSS kit and I would tell any truck owner to buy this!! The holes in the bearing werent drilled to the right size (a few slipped past) BUT I hade a new one within 3 days free of charge!!!. Marv is a excellent guy!!!! Also Chris was in the same position that you are (product before payment) and you dont see much of that anywhere!!!

Ian

*are the sector shaft nuts the same size (32mm) between the 2nd and 3rd gen trucks?

coobie :D

The last two shipments I got from Marv both took about three weeks :(

Marv can sometimes be a little hard to get on the phone, I seem to have the best luck in the afternoon. I got the same payment plan as the others, he sent three more before the check for the first two cleared
