Has anyone seen damage to the steering stabilizer that was caused by either the trackbar or the drag link? I was under my truck the other day and noticed the stabilizer had lots of dents on the backside of the stablizer shock. The dents were about in line with the drag link adjustments. I'm wondering if the drag link caused it or if it was caused by the shop that did my last alignment.

Why don't you get someone to turn the wheel from stop to stop while you watch the stabilizer, this should tell you if anything is hitting it or if this was caused by other means? Remember to consider where the parts are as they travel thru the compression of the suspension also. And by back side do you mean the side against the axle?

Man did I discribe the damage to the shock backwards! The shock damage is on the same side as the drag link. Since the drag link is in front of the steering stablizer, the damage is on the side side of the shock facing away from the axle. I'm going to do the wheel turn test tomorrow to check for any possibility that causes the problem.

Replaced the stabalizer shock yesterday after looking at the clearance as the wheels were turned. Far as I could tell the was no way for the shock to hit the drag link during turns or compression. Looks like it was damaged during the last alignment I had done.

Drives better now steering isn't as vague.
