There was a thread a while ago about holes and tears in the leather covering our steering wheels, Well after six months I'm satisfied enough with my repair to tell you guys about it.

I squirted "Crazy glue" in under the loose leather then moved it around and kind of molded it into place with an old teaspoon. when it had hardened I trimmed the rough edges with a razor blade then lightly sanded it smooth. Lastly I buffed and polished up the rough area with black boot polish. Afterwards you could hardly see the repair. It still looks good today.

If you try this don't blame me if you stick yourself to your truck! :)

Now go get a padded wheel cover to keep it from doing it again... my truck 5 yrs old and the padded cover still looks good

I have never found a cover --padded or not that I like.

I'm with you - nothing beats the real thing. A cover on a steering wheel is like . . . you know . . . taking a shower with a diving suit on ;)
