A friend of mine has a 1993 4x4 and he is having a problem removing the steering wheel. He mentioned that the wheel might be welded to the column.

He doesn't live in the same state I'm in so I have no way to look at.

I asked him if it was bolted on and he needed a steering wheel puller, he told me that wouldn't work.

Without being able to see it I have no idea it was mounted.

Every steeriing wheel I've removed was bolted and needed a puller.

If you have any suggestions or have removed one on a 93 I would appreciate hearing back.

Thanks for the help.

Either way, it should come off by undoing the nut and using a steering wheel puller. This, of course, is after removing the horn button assembly. My brother has removed his on both of his 93's.

On a few very rare ocasions ive lucky enough just to jerk them off .

Id say he needs to send you a pic of what hes looking at then we can deal with it

Thanks for the replies. I am going to ask him to send a picture. I have a feeling that it is just on so tight that he probably thought he could pull it off by hand and this is not the case. I've never had one come off without using a puller. I think it is a tilt, I'm not sure.
