Went to dumps and when got back on road noticed that my steering will not return to center. Car does not pull but if I turn slightly to left continuous left and does same to right. Truck is 06 4x4. I have not had a chance to crawl under truck but was thinking that ball joint froze.

A buddy of mine had his steering stabilizer hang up. Was fine when turning to the left, but when turning to the right it would'nt go all the way to lock and would'nt return to center.

Try unhooking the stabilizer and turning lock to lock. His is an 05.

If not the stabilizer then mabey its the outer axle u joints. In my prior life as a ford f350 man the same thing happened and it was a outer u joint. Never made any noise or clunk in 4x4 but it was bound up bad.

Unlikely that its a ball joint, more likely you damaged the steering stabilizer. Either way you should consider having the front end checked out by either the dealer, or a front end shop. I'd look under it first to see if you see anything obvious though.
